WRBL Week 15, 2022 (Championship Weekend)

 Wisconsin Rapids Bro League

Our eighth official season of blaming Cole Walters for nepo babies.

Bro...

The time has come. Down have fallen the once revered playoff contenders The Rule of Law and Kyler's Study Buddies. Long gone are Scott's Many Endeavors and Here Dad Weights (both playing for fifth in the Tackle for Loss-o Bowl) along with Stoltzya's Electric Orcas and No Antisemites Allowed (who are now both battling for the Sacko, "reward" for last place TBD). Alec Swanson... Cole Walters... two tax paying homeowners enter, one leaves to hold that title for good heading into the 2023 offseason. There's one thing left to do this Bro League postseason and that's to preview their championship matchup (formerly known as the Shelby Bowl) by looking at both lineups...

Tax Paying Homeowner (Alec Swanson) 11-4
QB - Joe Burrow (Playing the average Patriots, averaging 2.8 touchdowns per game since his bye week)
RB - Josh Jacobs (Leads the NFL in rushing yards as RB4 in WRBL, plays Saturday night vs. Steelers)
RB - J.K. Dobbins (28 carries for 245 yards in 2 games since return from IR, looks weirdly cautious when running now, should have nice game against poor Falcons run D)
WR - Justin Jefferson (WR1 in fantasy, facing ice cold Giants defense)
WR - Terry McLaurin (1,000 yard WR with only 3 touchdowns, consistent yet not explosive and may be helped by playing from behind in San Fran)
TE - Travis Kelce (TE1 by far, is active. Will start)
FX - WR Brandon Aiyuk (Hasn't been heavily featured since Brock Purdy took over despite Deebo Samuel's injury.)
K - Nick Folk (FOOOOOLKin' A this guy boned me the week that I needed him and now, he's Alec's problem to the tune of 9.3 points per game)
DF - Baltimore Ravens (Should be able to take advantage of an easily capped Falcon offense with Desmond Ritter making his second start)

Colieveland 96ers (Cole Walters) 10-5
QB - Josh Allen (QB3 gets the nod over Tua as the Super Bowl favorite gets to torch the teletubby Bears secondary)
RB - Saquon Barkley (RB5 has managed to stay healthy all year and is in the Pro Bowl)
RB - Rhamondre Stevenson (Questionable diagnosis didn't stop him from putting up 172 yards and a touchdown last week, questionable again, BIG passing game usage w/ 60 catches)
WR - Stefon Diggs (Hasn't been the 12-point play automatic handcuff w/ Allen these past two weeks but Jaylen Johnson isn't Xavien Howard OR Sauce Gardner)
WR - Jaylen Waddle (Teehee lil' penguin guy sees Packers secondary, goes brrrrr)
TE - T.J. Hockenson (TE3 in WRBL is actually TE2 in reality as the Vikings have re-energized his career)
FX - RB Jerick McKinnon (Can the veteran journeyman really do it a third week in a row? 32.4 as a Waiver Wonder in Week 13 and 34.2 as a Benchwarmer in Week 14 have him as a must start for anyone looking to ride the hot hand as a FLEX option)
K - Greg Joseph (Should benefit big time from kicking indoors as record cold temperatures sweep the nation, averaging 6.9 PPG)
DF - Denver Broncos (Playing @LA and Baker Mayfield. Which Baker shows up now that the Rams are down Allen Robinson, Ben Skowronek and Cooper Kupp? Virtual lock to not end up as a negative)

Rhamondre Stevenson joins a long list of New England Running Backs to go off come fantasy playoff time that includes Danny Woodhead, Mike Gillislee and James White.

With all of that out of the way, it's Christmas weekend and the NFL's weekly schedule is predictably zonked out of its mind. We have the typical Thursday night Amazon game, which is stupid enough if you ask me but nobody did so moving on... Saturday AKA: Christmas Eve has a whopping ELEVEN games since college football is not a factor and Christmas falls on a Sunday. That major holiday didn't stop the NFL from putting three games on Sunday however, with the Pack and Dolphins kicking off at noon, followed by a Rams-Broncos game we can all go without acknowledging and then Tampa vs. Arizona to cap off a spacious Sunday. Ultimately, I'd ignore all of this in favor of basketball because if anything is taking me away from Christmas movies, enjoying presents or my end-of-year music countdown, it's the NBA. Yeah, I'll push some of that back or forward for Packers-Dolphins because I need to watch Tyreek and Waddle go off for 200 yards when Green Bay DC Joe Barry gives them 10 yards of cushion and never adjusts. The week finishes with Chargers-Colts on Monday Night Football. I'm not sure why they're keeping the Colts in Primetime this late in a lost season but sure, why not? The recap of the final and All-Bro Teams are coming sometime before the NFL playoffs though not on the WRBL weekly recap's typical schedule. Until then, Happy Holidays and I'll see y'all at Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday if you can make it.
