WRBL Week 11, 2022

  Wisconsin Rapids Bro League

Our eighth official season of blaming Cole Walters for fruit flies.

Bro...

The only thing separating Jaime Sparkes from Cole Walters in the Bro League standings is .72 points on the season. This Thanksgiving, chew on the 96ers being 86'ed from their throne after a 3-4 tumble into mediocrity while Sparky ignited his own spark with Patrick "The Ketchup Lad" Mahomes stepping over Josh Allen for QB1 status. Speaking of ketchup, that is a condiment that doesn't need to make an appearance at any Thanksgiving meal, Friendsgiving or otherwise. The only "Friends Giving" we do here in the Bro League is exchanging L's. No limited-time only deals either, as Gabe and Nathaniel have learned. Join us again next week as we reawaken from our food comas to realize that "Oh damn, I forgot to set my lineup before the marathon of games started at 11:30 instead of Noon!". This year, I'm thankful for my lineup not cratering into the abyss like they have every other season. More importantly. I'm even more thankful that we extended this league's lifespan for long enough that we get to see the Bills play the Lions as a nation and it's actually a massive deal for fantasy and both NFL conferences' playoff pictures. I mean I'd still take Christmas Day basketball but admittedly, that is more of a basketball head opinion. Ball is Life after all. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving whether it's an actual physical work break or just a break from your average diet, we've earned this.

"BOOM!"

WRBL Week 10, 2022

  Wisconsin Rapids Bro League

Our eighth official season of blaming Cole Walters for Inflation.

Bro...

In a league of struggling professional fantasy football owners, Sparky is our Julio Rodriguez. We'd heard rumors of Sparky's potential for years but never before did we expect him to turn a team into an immediate, real, live contender. Kind of sounds like the Seattle Mariners of the Bro League, right? Jaime has restored some semblance of balance between the two divisions as both of the top two teams in the Steven Nett Division and the Shooter McGavin Division now sit at a clean 7-3 and 6-4 with the McGavin division all within a game of each other in descending order. As his victim this week, I must say that Sparky's four-game winning streak came as a surprise to type into the leaderboard this week. After further analysis, I must say that consistently starting known quantities like QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Austin Ekeler, RB Alvin Kamara, K Justin Tucker and the Bills defense appears to have it's benefits. The one unknown for Here Dad Weights are the targets with WR Christian Kirk OWNING The Rule of Law to the tune of 31 points this week after a few down performances and TE Dallas Goedert now landing on IR. There might not be any end in sight either with 3-7 Stoltzya's Electric Orcas. Gabe will attempt the dethroning of our league's hottest team with both QB Geno Smith and ELITE WR Tyreek Hill on byes.

Despite this outward threat to his divisional supremacy, Cole Walters is said to be in high spirits. He recently spoke of his team's inconsistencies, acknowledging the 3-3 fall from grace that has occurred for the 96ers since a 4-0 start. Cole still "truly believes (he) will win it all this season". Last time that I checked, his QB Josh Allen has an injury to his throwing arm and hasn't been this turnover prone since his rookie season. If Cole's most recent victory was over 2-8 Nathaniel Hoefs, does he really have a significant win in recent memory? The CFB committee would not be convinced but alas, the 9-1 hypothetical Bro League record says it all. The 96ers are still as dominant as ever and 4-6 Nick might just be another tiny speed-bump on the Cole Walters path to Cold Water supremacy. Somebody tell Nick to grab literally anybody with their fantasy trajectories pointed northward (WR A.J. Brown the lone exclusion in the Many Endeavor-ed lineup). It was nice of him to beat Alec this past week (I kind of needed it) but Justin Fields isn't going to break regular season QB rushing yardage records every week.... Or will he?

USA TODAY Sports
After letting the NFC South lead slip away in a 15-25 Thursday Night loss to the rebuilding Panthers, the Atlanta Falcons' defense has been exposed as a "Streamer's Delight" (I'm copyrighting that) with no help for injured DB A.J. Terrell or S Richie Grant (above). This week's hottest topic and Falcon opponent? Justin Fields's Chicago Bears.
