My First College Football Update of 2015!

With my new series of updates on the Wisconsin Rapids Fantasy Football Bro League and the Baseball Playoffs chugging along, it is time to step back and focus on the sport that is not necessarily making the most noise in the headline news but, is still the most entertaining sport on a game-to-game basis. College Football is still better than ever with innovative offenses and more knowledge than ever before about draft prospects. I've held off an extra week or two on talking about how weirdly disappointed I am in Oklahoma or how amazing TCU's run has been but, it is time.

Week 7 Results

#1 Ohio State starts slow & finishes strong again thanks to J.T. Barrett in win over 5-2 Penn State.

#2 Baylor's defense under-performed in a game featuring 100 total points against West Virginia.

#3 TCU's offense continues to overcome defensive injuries in 45-21 win over Iowa State.

#4 Utah finished off an ugly win over Arizona State with Devontae Booker's late TD run.

#5 Clemson remains unbeaten in easy win over ACC foes Boston College.

#6 LSU has their finest 2nd quarter of the year as Brandon Harris does enough to beat Treon Harris in LSU's fourth SEC victory.

#7 Michigan State shocks the world with last second benefit of epic punt gaffe against #12 Michigan.

#10 Alabama proves they should move up at least one spot in the ranks after taking out undefeated Texas A&M.

#11 Florida State easily disposes of Bobby Petrino's Louisville as Everett Golson still has yet to throw a pick.

#13 Ole Miss was upset by Memphis and newest talk-of-the-town QB Paxton Lynch.

#14 Notre Dame wins shootout against USC as they just barely manage to not screw up as many times as the team with an interim coach.

Christian McCaffrey enters Heisman discussions by breaking #18 Stanford's all-time single game rushing record in impressive win over #15 UCLA

#17 Iowa proves that #20 Northwestern is a fraud (as is annual tradition) despite injury to blossoming RB Jordan Canzeri.

#19 Oklahoma rebounds from embarrassing loss and stuns Kansas State and the world with a 55-0 shutout.

Utah State showcases why #21 Boise State should never have been a ranked one year after losing an NFL-caliber RB and their starting QB in minor upset.

#22 Toledo continues to gain nationwide respect with utterly dominant 63-20 win over Central Michigan.

#24 Houston looks to stay ranked for much longer after destroying Tulane at home in a 42-7 rout.

My Updated Top 25 in College Football (as of 10-20-15)
#1. Baylor - I rarely see an undefeated team coming off a championship look as bad as Ohio State has up to this point. That's why in a unique circumstance, I'm putting the strongest offense in college football as my #1 team right now since nothing else seems totally real yet.

#2. TCU - How this team has survived as many injuries to starters as they have is truly incredible.

#3. LSU - "BUT WHO HAVE THEY FACED?" Auburn, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Florida. Results? All wins. Stop using the "but who have they faced?" argument, LSU is legit.

#4. Ohio State - Unlike LSU, the Buckeyes have not faced any tough competition (Indiana excluded) and yet, they continue to under-perform and make their non-conference schedule interesting.

#5. Utah - The Utah defense is one of the best but, can their offense keep up with other Pac 12 opponents?

#6. Florida State - The one thing keeping QB Everett Golson from returning to the championship was how frequently he turned the ball over. He has zero turnovers in 2015. This team is far better than last year's.

#7. Clemson - I need to see them against someone other than Notre Dame but, for now this team is undefeated and barely tested.

#8. Alabama - The best team with a loss in their record is riding their defense and an elite Running Back through some solid opponents.

#9. Michigan State - With a fluke play keeping them undefeated, Michigan State's latest game should have been treated as a tie (in the rankings) instead of the win that it sort of was.

#10. Iowa - With an improving offense, the Hawkeyes are a proven team that could go undefeated in the regular season. Alas, that still might not be enough for the playoff.

#11. Notre Dame - C.J. Prosise is one of the most underrated Running Backs in the league and is the main reason this team has overcome so many injuries.

#12. Stanford - After a disastrous debut, the Stanford Cardinal appears to be fully recovered from their week one loss after doubling UCLA's point total last Thursday.

#13. Oklahoma State - Despite the undefeated record, Oklahoma State appears to be getting worse every week and everyone gets the feeling this won't last much longer.

#14. Florida - After an overblown sideline controversy, Jim McElwain and company have won a few close games against strong yet un-ranked teams and they kept it close versus LSU.

#15. Texas A&M - With their only loss being against the powerhouse in Tuscaloosa, the Aggies are hitting the strength of their schedule now and I do not think they are ready for Ole Miss.

#16. Memphis - The American Conference is alive and well with their first of three undefeated teams in Memphis.

#17. Houston - The second undefeated team out of the aforementioned American Conference, Houston has one of the more effective offenses although some of that is the weakness of their schedule.

#18. Oklahoma - My preseason bandwagon team has barely beaten Tennessee, lost to the deer tick in the ass of Texas sports (the Longhorns) and now shut out a respectable opponent (Kansas State) 55-0. I don't get this team.

#19. Temple - The final 6-0 team from the American Conference has more impressive wins than Toledo but, things are about to get very challenging for the Owls against East Carolina, Notre Dame and later on, Memphis.

#20. Toledo - The Rockets are in flight and this week's match against UMass should be an afternoon delight.

#21. Pittsburgh - The run-heavy does not seem to be missing RB James Conner as Qadre Ollison has carried the load quite well.

#22. California - The Golden Bears travel to UCLA after this past bye week.

#23. Duke - Duke looked very nice when defeating Georgia Tech and has obliterated smaller schools.

#24. Michigan - The second loss was a fluke and the first loss came against highly-regarded Utah. I'm only lower on them because of the fact that no matter how it happened, the Wolverines now have two losses.

#25. Western Kentucky - I really thought they would be unbeaten headed into this week's LSU game but, now I'm just giving the tiebreaker (between them & Ole Miss) to the 6-1 Hilltoppers as a sign of respect and acknowledgement before the Tigers eat this offensive line.

The rivalry game in Ann Arbor felt like a loss for both teams if anything.
Did I miss anyone? If so, leave a comment and speak freely because this is America.

Way too early Heisman ballot
3. WR Corey Coleman (Baylor)
2. WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
1. RB Leonard Fournette (LSU)

If Leonard Fournette is this good then I can't wait for Leonard FIVEnette
Best of luck to your alma mater or favorite team and may the upsets be plentiful!
